Fall 2014 National Estuary Program Meeting

ANEP is holding its Fall Board of Directors meeting and a planning retreat on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Our meeting is concurrent with Restore America's Estuaries 7th National Summit (November 2-5) and the Coastal Societies 24th Biennial Meeting (November 1-6). The RAE meeting starts Sunday night Nov. 2 and runs through mid-day on Wednesday, November 5.

Hotel Accommodations

Alert: The block of rooms at the Gaylord Hotel is quickly filling up. Please make your reservation by October 1!

NEP members will get the conference rate of $183 per night at the Gaylord conference center. The deadline for room reservations is Oct 8th or until the block is full. Go to the RAE meeting hotel registration and specify ANEP discount code. If you cannot book a room at the Gaylord, RAE has set up a block of rooms at the Aloft Hotel, which is a block away, for $169/night. November 3 (Monday): a no-host luncheon with EPA Coastal Management staff

  • 12:00 – 2:00 PM in room Maryland 5 at the Gaylord Convention Center. Meals are at your expense

  • NEP Annual Workshop – planning team, schedule of planning process, topics, etc. (John McShane, Lisa Beever)
  • Climate Change – coastal acidification, blue carbon, living shorelines, etc. what the NEPs and EPA are doing. (Michael Craghan, Paul Cough, Holly Greening)
  • Successes in accessing diverse funding sources (NEP Directors)
  • NOAA Habitat Restoration Grants (Holly Greening et al.)

Coastal Summit Meeting Information:

The above  meetings are being held in conjunction with the Coastal Summit, which is from November 2 – 5, 2014, and  are sponsored by Restore America’s Estuaries and The Coastal Society.   You are invited to register separately for the Coastal Summit and attend all the sessions and events. As a member of ANEP, you will receive a reduced registration fee of $300.
